GMU provided pavement engineering and testing services at El Toro Water District’s R-6 Reservoir in Mission Viejo, California, last month. The existing perimeter road significantly deteriorated and was due for replacement.
The road was reconstructed with a value-engineered structural section consisting of asphalt concrete over a cement-stabilized pulverized base layer using on-site materials, which resulted in an effective method to address the site’s challenging wet and soft subgrade conditions and contributed to construction savings.
Thank you, EL TORO WATER DISTRICT and Hannah T. Ford, P.E., for the opportunity to work on this exciting project and to serve our community.
