GMU's Engineering Triumphs: Celebrating Excellence in ASCE's 2024 Project of the Year Awards

GMU proudly received multiple Project of the Year awards from Orange County ASCE in 2024, showcasing our expertise across various engineering disciplines:



  1. Environmental Engineering Project of the Year Award Gibby Bridge (see at ASCE) Client: Rancho Mission Viejo GMU Role: Geotechnical Engineer (GE) Details: GMU's geotechnical expertise played a vital role in the success of this project, which restored San Juan Creek while constructing new bridge infrastructure that is protected against flooding and erosion.  

  2. Roadway and Highway Project of the Year Award El Toro Water District R-6 (see at ASCE) Client: El Toro Water District GMU Role: Pavement Engineering Details: GMU's pavement engineering services yielded a cost-effective pavement design solution while achieving project goals of restoring pavement around water infrastructure.

  3. Structural Engineering Project of the Year Award Sunset Avenue SCWD (South Coast Water District) (see at ASCE) Client: South Coast Water District GMU Role: Geotechnical Engineering and Structural Engineering Details: GMU's combined expertise in geotechnical and structural engineering allowed for an expedited emergency response and repair for Sunset Avenue and the supporting slope.

  4. Flood Management Project of the Year Award Laguna Canyon Channel Replacement (see at ASCE) Client: Orange County Public Works GMU Role: Geotechnical Engineering Details: GMU's geotechnical solutions contributed significantly to the restoration and repair of the flood channel, enhancing public safety and infrastructure resilience.
