Cyprus Shore Landslide

GMU was first on the scene in 2020 and performed a comprehensive geotechnical evaluation of the landslide and set-up the emergency monitoring network and provided emergency stabilization recommendations. GMU’s model served as the basis for design and showed that sand removal was the likely cause of the reactivation. GMU’s geotechnical model was eventually used for the tie-back stabilization design implemented by Metrolink/OCTA. GMU continues to monitor the slide area during the on-going repair as well as other areas outside the repair as well as continues to work with the Metrolink/OCTA consultants.
