After over 2 decades of providing leadership and direction to GMU, including 7 years as President/CEO, Greg has since transitioned to the position of CEO Emeritus. He continues his involvement with the firm as a Senior Principal and Board Member. Greg has been instrumental in establishing GMU as a multi-disciplined engineering and geology firm since coming to the firm in 1997. Greg’s experience in the industry includes working with small to large builders/developers and landowners, contractors, and attorneys, as well as various cities throughout Southern California on some of the most challenging geotechnical projects. He has extensive experience in landslide evaluation and remediation design, geotechnical instrumentation, residential and commercial development, public works projects, municipality consultation, retaining wall systems, and forensic projects.
Selected types of projects representative of Mr. Silver’s experience are as follows: landslides, residential development projects/master planned communities, commercial development projects, high-rise structures, major roadways and bridges, dewatering projects, water resource projects, miscellaneous public works projects, government/civic centers, sports parks, mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls, tie-back and soil nail walls, and geotechnical instrumentation.
Mr. Silver is former President of CalGeo, has published several peer reviewed papers, and has directed a wide variety of projects that have been selected for numerous awards.
