Services

Civil

GMU provides civil engineering services for a variety of projects, including those where the geotechnical conditions heavily influence project design. GMU has a unique ability to optimize a site plan and project design in order to best account for geotechnical and civil constraints. This unique experience is especially valuable on projects that include hillside grading, landslide repairs, retaining walls, etc.

Landslide and Slope Repair Plans

GMU prepares complete plans for landslide and slope repairs, including grading plans and other structural improvements that may be required such as tiebacks, caissons, or geogrid. We have prepared landslide and slope repair plans for public agencies, HOAs, contractors, and private homeowners.

Retaining Wall

Retaining Wall Plans

GMU prepares retaining wall plans and calculations for a variety of retaining structures, including the following:

  • Conventional/Cantilever Walls
  • MSE Walls
  • Caisson Walls
  • Tieback Walls
  • Soil Nail Walls

Stormwater Services

GMU is trained to work with the most current storm water regulations that influence each project. We are experienced with Low Impact Design (LID) elements such as infiltration features, permeable pavements, bioswales, water quality basins, etc. We also provide infiltration testing to be used in a project’s Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP).

For construction storm water, GMU’s team is trained in the new requirements of the California Construction General Permit. We hold certifications for Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSP) and Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP), as required by the Construction General Permit. We are also equipped to sample and test storm water runoff in accordance with the Construction General Permit.
