Landslide Projects

GMU’s staff has worked on some of the largest and most high-profile landslide repairs in Southern California, including the La Conchita landslide in Ventura County, the Via Estoril/Crown Valley Parkway landslide in Laguna Niguel and the Big Rock Mesa landslide in Malibu. Our engineers have conducted detailed investigations to determine why slides occur and have engineered innovative solutions to stabilize hillsides and allow for safe re-development.

Belmont Estates Landslide, Orange/Anaheim

The Belmont Estates landslide impacted more than a dozen hillside homes in the cities of Anaheim and Orange. GMU performed a geotechnical investigation to monitor movement and determine the cause of the failure, and developed a repair plan consisting of an earth buttress, horizontal drains and tiebacks.
