La Paz Road Rehabilitation

GMU provided both pavement engineering along with construction observation and testing services for the La Paz Road Pavement Rehabilitation project, from Kings Road to Aliso Creek Road, located in the City of Laguna Niguel. Our engineering services included a visual pavement condition survey, in-place falling weight deflectometer (FWD) testing, asphalt coring and sampling, laboratory testing, and engineering analysis with a report. The construction of the project consisted of cold planning the existing pavement along gutter and median curb, grinding out and replacing variable width conventional 3/4–inch AC to a depth of 12-inches, placing variable depth conventional 3/8-inch AC leveling course, and placing a rubberized asphalt concrete 2-inch-thick overlay on the entire width of the subject portion of La Paz Road.
