The slope failure repair included installation of soil nails and structural/aesthetic shotcrete facing. The finish surface was sculptured and stained to mimic the surrounding slopes and bluffs. GMU assessed the geotechnical conditions, designed the soil nails and structural/aesthetic facing as well as provided detailed plans and specifications. We also provided observation and testing during construction. Since GMU performed both structural and geotechnical engineering for the soil nail wall/slope a conventional geotechnical report was not required saving time, money and resulted in only one consultant instead of 2 being able to complete the job.
