Big Rock Mesa

GMU’s staff was involved in a comprehensive geotechnical engineering evaluation for the 136-acre Big Rock Mesa landslide in Malibu. Work consisted of deep continuous core borings, thousands of feet of geophysical logging, installation of various types of geotechnical instrumentation, assessment of existing dewatering wells, design and construction of new dewatering wells, installation of horizontal drains, geologic mapping, hydro-geologic evaluation, stability analyses and development of remediation options.
